About myRPI.org
myRPI is the student-powered portal that is at the heart of student life at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
We've been online since the beginning of the Fall 2007 semester. The site was originally created by members of the RPI Student Senate, but the idea from the beginning was always to create a space that students at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute can make their own.
The site gives you the latest in events going on at RPI's Student Union, links to blogs and forums focused on student issues at the Institute, and many important links for students that often get shoved to the wayside (such as a really handy course scheduler and dining hall menus). The page also sports some user-friendly, powerful problem-reporting tools that allow you to contact student representatives painlessly and quickly. We're all in this together--communicating any issues you've got with the way things operate at RPI can help improve the Institute for everyone.
We're promoting an idea here: visitors (i.e. you) should be able to change a lot of the content on myRPI. To that end, myRPI allows you to:
- Submit links and vote them up or down
- Add new homepage banners
- Upload cool photos from RPI
- Add funny, insightful, or otherwise interesting quotes and facts. Make the site your own!
We built myRPI because we wanted a more personal portal page for students than RPInfo, and we wanted to make it as painless as possible for students to work together in the improvement of student life at RPI.
